Historical Advisor + Guide
Joe is highly regarded as one of Ireland's most foremost archeologists. Archaeology has always been his passion, along with his huge interest in local history. He has extensive knowledge of areas not on standard tourism routes, which are hidden gems and reflective of true Irish life over the centuries.
Joe is interested and passionate about the need to preserve monuments for future generations and to regenerate community interest in and support for monuments and buildings of archaeological and historical importance.
He has undertaken the project of restoring the ruin of the medieval Killilagh Church in the Doolin area to restore and to stop further deterioration in the condition of the fabric of the building, on a phased basis. He is working on a graveyard survey at Killilagh and aims to link Doolin with the Irish diaspora in the USA

DAY 1:
Arrive Shannon Airport
MEET YOUR TOUR GUIDE in Arrivals Hall. Spend the morning exploring County Clare. Drive to Doolin Pier and (weather permitting), take a boat along the Cliffs of Moher where you'll experience the Cliffs from sea.
After the Cliffs, drive to wonderful town of Ennis and check into hotel. Later in the evening, enjoy some traditional Irish music in one of the local pubs.

DAY 2
After breakfast, drive to Galway and spend the day taking in the culture of Shop Street, where you can visit any number of cafes, shops and pubs.

DAY 3
After breakfast, spend the day driving up through Connemara, stopping along the way at Cong (home of the Quiet Man, where John Wayne filmed a number of scenes), Clifden and Leenaun. End the day in Westport, Co Mayo. Overlooking Clew Bay, this stunning little town will take your breath away. After dinner, head over for a traditional session at Matt Molloy's Pub.

Drive North from Mayo to the breathtaking coast of Donegal.
Drive west to Sligo / Leitrim...

After breakfast, relax, ensure you have all your belongings and check out of hotel. Joe will drop you off at Shannon Airport for your departing flight.
